As ad blockers, and other consumer habits begin to infringe on the impact of banner adverts, native advertising (ads online that mimic content) is powering ahead. Consumers are 25% more likely to look at an native advert than they are a banner and  53% more likely to engage.

The Irish Times Content Studio was created to engage with the global shift from advertisers towards the rapidly growing branded content sector. Creating high-quality, editorially driven stories, the studio has worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, bringing their brand values directly to Irish Times readers. The unit has won multiple awards, including a Global Media Award for Best Native Campaign for its work with Audi.

In this session, Gary will use the top 20 most read stories published by the studio in 2017 to show what works, why and how readily readers engage with brand storytelling when it’s created honestly and with passion.
